Friendship Tea Mix

INGREDIENTS:

2 c Tang orange drink powder
1 1/2 c Instant tea granules
1 1/4 c Sugar
1 ts Lemon Koolaid powder
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1/2 ts Ground cloves
Mix ingredients thoroughly. To serve, dissolve 2 to 3 teaspoons in a cup of boiling water.

NOTES : If you've got a bad 'cold', this is just the ticket. A shot of brandy or whiskey (for adults!) goes well, too, if you're going to crawl under the covers for the day. The name 'Friendship Tea' is because you're supposed to mix up a large batch and store in several small jars; then when one of your friends is ill, you take them the tea mixture (with a copy of the recipe) to make them feel better! My grandmother (in her 80's) and a neighbor (in her 60's) both remember Friendship Tea during the 40's, though this must be a newer recipe because of the Tang? I thought that was invented for astronauts in the 60's...then again, it could have been false advertising.
