Fried Green Tomatoes


INGREDIENTS:

2/3 c All-purpose flour or
-cornmeal
2 ts Salt
1 ds Pepper
3 lb Green tomatoes; cut in 1/2
-inch slices
Salad oil

About 30 minutes before serving:

In pie plate, combine flour, salt and pepper. Dip tomato slices in mixture to coat both sides.

In large skillet over medium heat, in 1/4 cup hot salad oil, fry tomato slices, a few at a time, until golden on both sides and heated through. Drain on paper towels. Add more salad oil as needed. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
