Cranberry Sunrise

INGREDIENTS:

1 c Water
1 c Sugar
1 Fresh habanero, stemmed,
-seeded and halved
1 Bag (10-oz) fresh
-cranberries

This sauce is so sweet and hot! Tastes really good with all the veggies on the Thanksgiving table, and it's vegetarian as well...Because I'm the only chilehead in my family, this is one of 2 cranberry sauces I prepare and I love it. It calls for 1 hab'nero..but you can use any type of chileand as many as you want/need .

In a med. saucepan, dissolve the sugar in the water over medium heat. Add the habanero and bring to a boil. Stir in the cranberries and boil for 1 min. Reduce heat to low, and simmer uncovered for 10 mins.,stirring often, until the sauce thickens. Remove the habanero halves and discard. Serve warm or chilled.

Some notes: I put grated orange rind in the sauce.About 1 Tbsp, after the sauce has cooked. I mince the habs, so they stay in the sauce. Pick over and wash the cranberries before cooking them.
