Corn Pudding #6
INGREDIENTS:
2 tb Sugar
1 1/2 tb Cornstarch
1 c Milk
3 Eggs (beaten)
1 cn (#10 size) cream style corn
2 tb Butter
1 1/2 ts Salt
1 ds Nutmeg

(This is a vegetable dish, not a dessert)
Mix together sugar and cornstarch, gradually adding milk until smooth. Add eggs, corn, butter and salt and mix well. Turn into greased 1 quart [1 litre] baking dish, sprinkle top with nutmeg. Place pan in (a larger pan of) hot water at 300F [150C] for 1-3/4 hours.
"This is a good ole Southern (US) dish. The only trouble is that it takes so long to cook so you can't make it on the spur of the moment."
