Cherry Cola Salad
INGREDIENTS:
2 pk Cherry-flavored gelatin; (4
-servings each)
1 2/3 c Boiling water
2 c Cola; * see note
1 c Chopped walnuts
1 c Chopped maraschino cherries
1/3 c Frozen whipped topping;
-thawed
3 Plastic drinking straws;
-each cut in half

In a large bowl, dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water. Stir in the cola and chill for about 45 minutes. Stir in the chopped walnuts and cherries. Divide the mixture among 6 to 8 parfait glasses; cover and chill for 2 to 3 hours, or until set. When ready to serve, top each with a dollop of whipped topping. Serve garnished with the straws (just for fun). These look pretty seved in old fashioned ice cream soda glasses.
Note* For even more cherry flavor, use cherry cola in place of regular cola. You can also use either diet or caffeine free soda too.
