Canadian Provolone Mushroom Sandwiches


INGREDIENTS:

6 Enriched rolls
Butter; softened
1 tb Chopped uncooked bacon
2 tb Chopped onion
6 tb Canned sliced mushrooms
1 ts Snipped parsley
18 sl Canadian-style bacon; 1/8
-inch thick
6 sl Swiss cheese
6 Thin green pepper rings
Paprika
These "Savory Sandwiches" are from the September, 1974 issue.

Split and butter rolls. Saute chopped bacon, onion, mushrooms and parsley for about 5 minutes. Arrange 3 slices Canadian bacon on each bottom half of roll and top with mushroom mixture and 1 slice cheese. Place a green pepper ring on each cheese slice; sprinkle paprika inside of green pepper ring. Place sandwiches on baking sheet and broil 6 inches from heat until cheese melts, about 3 to 5 minutes. Serve sandwich open-faced. Garnish with cherry tomato and olive on skewer. Makes 6 sandwiches.
