Basic Pizza Dough


INGREDIENTS:

1 pk Active Dry Yeast
2/3 c Hot Water; 110 - 115 Deg F
1 tb Honey
1 tb Olive Oil
2 c All-Purpose Flour; Unsifted
1/2 ts Salt
In a large bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes. Add honey & olive oil. Stir. Add flour and salt. Stir until dough forms. Turn out onto floured surface, knead dough adding small quantities of flour if necessary, until very elastic (10-15 minutes). Dough should be soft, don't add too much flour.

Wash & dry & oil mixing bowl. Place the dough in oiled bowl, turning to bring oiled side up. Cover with clean cloth, let dough rise in warm place, away from drafts, until doubled in size. (50-60 minutes).

Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Lightly dust large pizza pan with cornmeal. Shape into 14" round and roll edge to make a thin border. Cover with favorite sauce and toppings.

Bake 12-15 minutes on lower rack until crust is lightly browned and the cheese is bubbly.

Dough Variations: ================Whole Wheat -
reduce all-purpose flour to 1 cup and add 1 cup Whole Wheat flour.
