Almond Shortbread Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
1 c Butter (or marg.); softened 2 1/4 c Flour, all-purpose
1/2 c Sugar 1 c Pecans; chopped or almonds
2 ts Vanilla extract; OR 1 ts Red food coloring
1/2 ts Almond extract Sugar
1 tb Water

Combine butter, sugar, vanilla, water and flour; blend well. Add nuts and food coloring. Chill for several hours.
Shape into crescents or half-moons. Place on greased cookie sheets and bake at 300 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not let cookies brown. Roll in white or colored sugar.
