INGREDIENTS:

1 md Onion, chopped -replaced by water
2 tb Bacon or pork fat 1/2 ts Caraway seeds
2 c Sauerkraut, (16 oz. can) 3/4 c White wine
-drained, rinsed and liquid 1 md Potato, peeled and grated
Saute onion in fat until tender. Add remaining ingredients except potato. Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Add grated potato and simmer for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
