573891 Polish Cabbage Rolls
INGREDIENTS:
8 lg Green cabbage leaves, 1/2 t Oregano
-boiling in salted water 3/4 t Basil leaves (crushed)
1 lb Lean ground beef 2 Eggs
3/4 c Wheat germ or rice 1 cn (1 lb.) tomato sauce
1/2 c Finely chopped onion 3/4 c Water
1 t Salt 2 T Brown sugar
1/8 t Pepper 2 T Vinegar
1 md Clove of garlic (minced) 1 T Corn starch
1/2 c Chopped onions

Drop cabbage leaves into boiling salt water for 5 minutes. Drain leaves. Mix beef, rice, onion, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, basil and eggs. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Blend tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, vinegar and corn starch until smooth. Pour over rolls. Cover with foil. Bake 40 or 50 minutes, spooning sauce over rolls once or twice while baking.
